Happy weekend guys! If you are like me that looks forward to another weekend at the end of a weekend, raise up your hands🖐🖐. Such an irony right?😄😄

Last week came with an encounter I want to gist you about. While I was at work, ideas dancing in my head, words beckoning to me and my long, fine fingers swaying on the computer keyboard, a young man in his early thirties walked in to the office and specifically requested to see me.

Ehnnnn!🙄 My thought was ‘Do I know you?’ but I tried to keep a straight face. Getting to my table, he said he wanted to talk with me. I was like ‘OK, Mo gbo’ (Go on, l can hear you). He took a seat, introduced himself and narrated his pitiful state of job hunting.

He was scheduled for an interview at Epe by 12pm and he was talking with me as at 9:45am without enough money to take him to the interview location. He said he squats with his friend but the friend had no money to give him to take him to the interview. He attempted going to the bus park to plead that they convey him freely to his destination, even if it’s to sit on the bus engine. The park guys insulted him. A man that witnessed his humiliation walked up to him, encouraged him and gave him N300.

He needed like N2000 and 4 hours more to get to Epe from my place of work. He showed me his certificates as proof that he is a Masters Degree holder of Public Administration. In his pitiful state, he communicated smoothly in English even as he couldn’t hold back his tears while he narrated his ordeals.

My people, the truth is, yours truly Ifeoluwa had no dime on her then but  like in ’Who wants to be a millionaire?’ I called a friend and she helped me with 1k for him.

After he had gone, it became clearer to me that ‘Life is an irony’ because some couple of days ago, I called 2 job applicants for interview and within the space of 5 minutes one of them kept calling me to ask questions like ‘Do you have an idea what the pay is?’, ‘You mentioned health…I am an accountant, are you sure you’re calling the right person? ‘. I just told her that she will get to know when she comes for the interview. Is that not supposed to be part of the purpose of an interview.

So here are 2 different people and see how life played out with them. Isn’t life such an irony? I hope the guy in need of job finds a job soon and the lady learns to do better.

If you recall, some weeks ago, I shared a post about how I got stranded at Ikoyi even with money in my account. Yes, that’s how life can sometimes play pun or irony with you. But please don’t give up on pushing and give yourself a reason to smile 😀 even when there are no reasons. Think of the beauty that awaits you after all your present struggles.

We gather dey guys, its gonna get better. In Dija’s voice of RADIO, I say ’I love youuu, yes I do’😍😘❤
