Hi Difers, how is the week going for you? Guess you were not expecting a midweek post🤣🤣, I know right. So, let me officially introduce you to a new feature on Dife Blog and this is WITTY WEDNESDAY. This feature will be published on Wednesdays and it will beam light on the biography/autobiography of distinct individuals who have been exceptional blessings to the world.
Today, we kickstart with Jeff Bezos. Jeffrey Preston Bezos (born in New Mexico on January 12, 1964) is an American internet entrepreneur, industrialist, media proprietor, and investor. He is best known as the founder, CEO, and president of the multi-national technology company, Amazon. He founded Amazon in late 1994 on a cross-country road trip from New York City to Seattle.
The company began as an online bookstore and has since expanded to a wide variety of others. Under his guidance, Amazon became the largest retailer on the World Wide Web and the model for internet sales, e-commerce products and services, including video and audio streaming, cloud computing. It is currently the world’s largest online sales company, the largest Internet company by revenue , and the world’s largest provider of virtual assistants and cloud infrastructure services through its Amazon Web Services branch.
Aside from Amazon, Bezos founded a spaceflight company, Blue Origin, in 2000. Blue Origin bought a launch site in Texas and soon thereafter and planned to introduce a crewed suborbital spacecraft, New Shepard, in 2018 and on orbital launch vehicle, New Glenn, in 2020.
Bezos had an early love for computers and studied computer science and electrical engineering at Princeton University. After graduation, he worked on Wall Street, and in 1990, he became the youngest senior vice president at the investment firm, D.E Shaw.
Philanthrophism is evident in Jeff Bezos’ life. Though not to the extent as many of his hyper billionaires like Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, who have both pledged to donate the majority of their fortune to charity but in his own way, he gives back to the society. An instance is his pledge to spend $10billion to fight climate change in February 2020 and his $100million promise to food banks back in April 2020 to mention but a few.
In 2014, he was ranked the best performing CEO in the world by Havard Business Review. Journalist Nellie Bowles of The New York Times has described the Public persona and personality of Bezos as that of “a brilliant but mysterious corporate titan.” His leadership styles are unique ones; he meets with Amazon investors for a total of only 6 hours in a year. He maintains an email address as an outlet for customers to reach out to him and the company. Today, he is currently in a love relationship with Lauren Sánchez after divorcing with his wife Mackenzie Tuttle finally on 14 April, 2019. He is a father of 4.
There are 2 lessons which are worth noting in Jeff Bezos’ life. First, he is aptly decisive. On July 5, 1994, he left his lucrative job at D.E Shaw and founded Amazon in his garage much to the suprise of many, including his parents. The second lesson is that he did not rest on his laurels. After finding Amazon, he went on to acquire Blue Origin, The Washington Post and Bezos Expedition all of which in their own little way, contribute to his immense wealth.

Joyfully glide through the rest of the week. Je t’aime mon ami😘😘😘
