Covid-19 has impacted our lives than we could ever imagine, economies have been forced to lockdown, schools and public places have been shut and our lives have one way or the other been halted. Weddings, Owambes are on indefinite suspension because no one knows who will survive this phase. There is a subtle panic that our lives have been reprogrammed.
This global health crisis makes us realize the weight of humanity, the implications of our actions and how we are all connected. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and God is using this time to heal our land and lives.
“And the people stayed home. And read books, and listened, and rested, and exercised, and made art, and played games, and learned new ways of being, and were still. And listened more deeply. Some meditated, some prayed, some danced. Some met their shadows. And the people began to think differently. And the people healed. And, in the absence of people living in ignorant, dangerous, mindless, and heartless ways, the earth began to heal. And when the danger passed, and the people joined together again, they grieved their losses, and made new choices, and dreamed new images, and created new ways to live and heal the earth fully, as they had been healed.
To people who live with depression and other issues that is making social distancing difficult. Please be strong, and let us brave through this together. Practice self-care, equip yourselves to be better, love yourselves and others more deeply, sprinkle kindness around. This is that time to heal so that we do not bleed on people who didn’t cut us, spread more love and be there for each other.
