How have you been? Staying alive, and motivated? Juggling lifeโ€™s responsibilities plus managing relationships with family and friends, ultimately living a full life in Christ. Life is a handful, no doubt. I would like to read your response in the comment box, sharing the experience helps you feel better and the weight, a  bit lighter ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was off this space for a while to kick start something new and thatโ€™s Sounds of Heaven YouTube Channel. If youโ€™re a lover of positive content and an avid reader of Dife Blog, please visit the channel and subscribe. Itโ€™s all about celebrating gospel music artistes and promoting the Kingdom of God. The past weeks have been very engaging and quite reflective for me. Apart from starting SOH, 1st May 2022 marked my first year of work anniversary at my workplace and I also had the privilege of physically meeting with my bosses after a full year of virtual work. Looking back at my work history over the years, I can truly say God has been faithful and this serves as my anchor to trust Him for the future that I donโ€™t have figured out.ย

My bosses are good men who truly love Nigeria and they are committed to impacting Nigeria so we often have cool conversations about a lot of things. Before you start thinking Ifeoluwa is dope or a โ€˜ghenghenโ€™ girl , ย in one of my conversations with my bosses, I told them that โ€œI am the least smart among my siblingsโ€ even though I am the firstborn of my family but I am committed to giving my effort to causes that would positively influence my sphere.

To celebrate my first year’s work anniversary, I will share some stories of my work journey with you in this blog post. Presently, I work as a Manager in a 100% pro-Nigerian nonprofit organization but I had previously worked as a Digital Marketer in a public health-focused nonprofit organization and I reported primarily to my supervisor and the NGOโ€™s founder. My supervisor was a good, gracious woman who taught, nurtured, and gave me space to fly. She would defend me in my presence and even behind closed doors. There was a time when we do have Monday meetings that became scary meetings. In one of those meetings, I was ripped off the commendation of a job well done ( I almost cried in that meeting)ย  but she spoke up for me. At some point, she resigned and I was afraid for myself because there was no smooth working relationship between myself and the NGOโ€™s founder who automatically became my direct supervisor.ย

I prayed about it and God smoothened the rough working relationship, I could work in peace and ease with the NGOโ€™s founder. In the midst of this ease and peace, my present job offer came without applying for the job. Like one of my friends will say, โ€œTrust the processโ€, there are backend processes to this short story I just shared. One of them was, that God made me reject a juicy job offer with one of my dream employers at a timeย  I was not at ease at my previous workplace. This made me trust God more, I decided to be calm and stay low on a frantic job search.ย

God worked on my heart during this time to be a better employee, and He definitely helped my former boss too so we had a better work environment. Personally, I will say I exited my previous workplace at the smoothest of times then.

We all are โ€œwork in progressโ€,ย  allow God to be the compass of your progress, and donโ€™t ever be too ashamed to go back to Him.ย  I make mistakes like Iโ€™ve made some mistakes this week but I no dey shame to say โ€œIโ€™m sorry.โ€ even to people and I also forgive myself too. As long as you live, you are signed on to a lifetime learning curve. I leave you with a quote by one of my bosses ” It’s not difficult to be a good person. Just be a Christian!” Akintunde Akinboroย

Cheers to becoming all that the Creator has designed for you๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿฅ‚

  1. Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run or learn from it. If I had nine hours to chop down a tree, Iโ€™d spend the first six sharpening my axe. Meaning, that the time you spent previously with your former employer has sharpened you for what is happening now in your current workplace and definitely in the future. There will be little rubs and disappointments everywhere for sure, even at your workplace and we are all apt to expect too much; but then, if one scheme of happiness fails, human nature turns to another; if the first calculation is wrong, we make a second better: we find comfort somewhere. This is exactly what I believe is happening to you where you work now. God will continue guiding your part as your ate destined for greatness.

  2. Such an Inspiring Story๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ˜‡, this felt like a direct message to me, and I just had to smile while reading because I got instructions on what to do next ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿค—
