As long as you are living, there is always a NEXT, so don’t worry if you are in a nest of “What Next”.

My people, how are you holding up?
Whew! May felt like a whirlwind, yet my heart is full. It stretched me, demanded more, but reminded me of one simple truth: no man is an island. No kidding, support systems are God’s gifts.

From hopping on an interstate trip for a youth empowerment program at Olabisi Onabanjo University, to taking my first international trip (fully funded) to Singapore for learning and become more. I guess it’s fair to say that I am a testament that God is good.

I’m one of those who savour solitude. During my quiet walks or transit rides, I often find myself communicating with myself, and thoughts come to me randomly without prior thought. A few Sundays ago, on my way from church, I heard, “Sometimes, you don’t realize when you’re living in your answered prayers.” That hit deep. Gratitude, I’ve learned, keeps you grounded in the now and shields your heart from the weight of future anxieties.

Growth is a feature of life (says Mr Niger D), and people will somehow have expectations of you.  So, what do you do when you are getting a lot of “What next?” questions?

Truth? I don’t have all the answers. But here’s what I know: Don’t force a next that doesn’t align with your essence. Don’t let others’ timelines pressure you into noise that drowns your peace.

Don’t give yourself unhealthy pressure that will push you to what is genuinely not for you or doesn’t align with your essence. Let your answer to WHAT NEXT? come from a deep-rootedness that rings true in your spirit, echoes in your heart, and stays clear in your mind, not from the continuous words of others nor their expectations of you.

If you’re in a season where “next” is yet unknown, breathe. Be faithful in the now and trust God with the unfolding. Read Matthew 6:25-34.

Rest in this truth: the Father has gone ahead of you.
