Last week, I was at a training and the facilitator asked ‘what is your first quarter goal?’ While I was still gathering my thoughts she called ‘Ife, what are your Q1 goals, did you achieve them?’ You know that Tupac’s song ‘All Eyes on Me’ just happened to me with that question. Really, I just mumbled an incoherent reply. The truth is I didn’t hit my top most goal of the quarter which to me equals, I didn’t hit my Q1 goals. But I have some records of successes, however, at the time of the question I didn’t see any fulfilled goal or something to be proud of.

Literarily, March madness is a single-elimination tournament played each spring in the United States, currently featuring 68 college basketball teams. However, with the end of March, the first quarter of the year ends and the March madness of achievement of first quarter goals is raving the air. As sweet and fulfilling it is to hit one’s goals, you can’t underplay your efforts for your little successes. Don’t be too humble to celebrate your step-by-step strides, they matter in your journey to your GIANT victories. Enjoy each phase of your process with relish. Recognise and celebrate your little wins.

Don’t allow the March madness of achievement of first quarter goals deprive you from the peace, joy that comes with the little progresses that propel life-changing shift. Never underestimate nor trade your peace and joy in any situation.

Bask in your pete-a-pete victories and look forward, plan for the next quarter. We are those that contrary to hope continue to hope. ‘Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit’ Romans 15:13.
